Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has expressed his disappointment at his side’s poor start to the game, which saw them lose 2-1 to Aston Villa.

Defeat to Aston Villa meant Spurs were knocked out of both domestic cup competitions in the same week, leaving them with only the Europa League to contest in the race for silverware this season.

“Of course it’s disappointing not to go through. We didn’t start well, that’s the last thing you want, and we tried very hard to control the game. Then we had a lot of chances at 1-0, but we couldn’t equalise.”

“We controlled the game better but unfortunately ทางเข้า UFABET สำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ สมัครวันนี้ รับโบนัสฟรี we weren’t good enough. When you go behind, it gives the opposition momentum and confidence. You want to take control of the game from the start and we didn’t do that.”

“We were still in the game (at half-time), we just had to be patient. The second half was more like us. The second goal made it even more difficult, but I always felt we created danger. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.”

“We still scored, we created more chances, we were still in the game, but conceding early and the second goal made it difficult.”
